Amaya Reef Resort has a
perpetual relaxed holiday
atmosphere about it. Built in
the mid 1980s, this
unpretentious 2 two-storeyed
hotel has 54 rooms with
balconies that face the sea
front.
The rooms vary in size but they
are all equipped with the
standard amenities of comfort
such as air conditioning, hot
and cold water and telephones.
The bathrooms are modern and
well maintained and provide
basic toiletries.
The open Catamaran Restaurant is
virtually on the beach and
serves both western and eastern
food and also has theme nights
which feature Indian, Chinese,
Mongolian, Italian and Sri
Lankan food in buffet and
barbecue style. The larger
indoor lounge restaurant is used
mainly for weddings and
banquets.
The evenings at the hotel are
peaceful, with calypso bands,
magic shows or cultural shows
featuring devil dancers, and a
make shift nightclub providing
occasional active evenings.
