Far from the madding crowd in a setting that borders the ruins of a once great empire, lies in the town of Habarana 170 kms north-central of Colombo.

The Village, was developed as a transit stopover for clients going through to the east-cost beaches. But the natural assets and beauty here, and its strategic location for archaeological sight-seeing, were so overwhelming.

Over the period The Village, and later The Lodge, grew to be resort destinations with their own distinct identities and unique appeal.

The Village with its rustic resort facilities has an appeal to nature lovers. Set in spacious grounds bordering a lake, the traveller finds himself in a botanical garden surrounded by exquisite species of fauna and flora.

The Village finds its dwelling amongst 12 acres of wooded parkland, a profusion of tropical foliage, and is a splendid base from which to explore the ancient city sites of Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Sigiriya, Dambulla and the Minneriya Wildlife Park.
